Importing files into QuestLog

Bring audio and notes from any recorder or app into QuestLog.

QuestLog imports recordings from any source - Plaud, Otter, Apple Voice Memos, Zoom/Teams recordings, or loose audio files.

How to import

  1. In the left sidebar, click Import files.
  2. Drag your files onto the drop zone (or click to choose). You can drop audio (MP3, WAV, M4A, OGG/Opus…) and, optionally, text notes/transcripts (TXT, MD, SRT, VTT).
  3. Click Import. Everything lands in an Imported folder.

What happens to each file

  • Audio is re-transcribed by QuestLog with its own diarization, summary, highlights and action items.
  • A text note with no audio becomes a text-only recording (QuestLog still summarizes it).
  • If you drop both the audio and a matching text file, QuestLog pairs them by filename and keeps your original note alongside the recording (shown as Original imported note).

Pairing tip

Name the audio and its note the same base, e.g. meeting-jun3.mp3 + meeting-jun3.txt, and they'll be linked automatically.
